Anyone who is not a specialist in the agricultural machinery industry may not realise how extensively machine technology has taken over for farmers the business of working the fields. It is easy to overlook the fact that alternative drive technologies, such as hybrid systems, have gained ground in the area of field machinery as well, resulting in truly high-tech products. Agricultural technology involves largely seasonal customer demand. The scale ranges from small series all the way to mass products comparable with the automotive industry, but always with a very high level of variance. These factors in particular make this industry extremely interesting for our project work,
and UTPB has been playing an increasingly significant role here. Our focus is on the various technical fields in the industry. Such projects include assisting in the further development of suppliers based on the requirements in the automotive industry, organising logistical processes, including in terms of JIS delivery, as well as the organisation of production processes according to modern production philosophies and technologies.
